Cal. complaint alleges Paidwork failed to safeguard users' sensitive information and provide timely notice before users allegedly suffered account- takeover and financial harm. Austin, Texas – July 25, 2026 – Hall Attorneys, P.C. and Ahdoot & Wolfson, P.C. filed a putative class action on July 24, 2026 against Paidwork LLC in the Sacramento Division of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California. The complaint alleges Paidwork failed to use reasonable safeguards to protect users' sensitive information and failed to provide prompt and adequate notice after that information was allegedly accessed and disclosed without authorization. According to the complaint, Paidwork operates a global gig-economy and microtask platform through which users create accounts, complete online tasks, track earnings, and designate payment information for withdrawals. The complaint alleges that Paidwork collected and retained sensitive information from its users and that the reported exposure of that information created risks of identity theft, account takeover, phishing, and financial fraud. The complaint alleges that a threat actor claimed to have accessed Paidwork's production environment in March 2026.
